Why Are The Iconic Stores We All Grew Up With Shuttering?

Just days after American Apparel announced it’ll close all remaining US stores, another one of your favorite mall staples is saying good-bye to the brick-and-mortar shopping experience. BCBG, the mid-priced fashion label helmed by designer Max Azria, is set to close about 570 stores worldwide, with 175 of those locations in the United States. (The Limited and Aéropostale also recently reported store closures.) But don’t worry—you’ll still be able to purchase those much-loved BCBG body-con dresses online as the brand becomes the latest in a line of retailers to switch over to a solely digital platform. It’ll focus on e-commerce, licensing and wholesaling to other retailers—and as a parting gift, the site is hosting a sale at 25% off regularly priced dresses and accessories. With nostalgia, we shop.
